PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: September 9, 2026

1. Introduction

The Harbinger Press ("we", "us", or "our") is a cross-border journalism organisation. This website is not specifically directed at, or targeting, residents of the European Union, the United Kingdom, or any other single jurisdiction — its content is intended for an international readership. As a matter of transparency, this Privacy Policy nonetheless explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you visit theharbingerpress.com and its associated brand sites, and describes privacy protections we choose to extend to all visitors on a voluntary basis, regardless of location.

This website is operated by Harbinger Bros. LLC, 1309 Coffeen Avenue, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States.

While we do not consider ourselves to fall within the territorial scope of the following frameworks as a matter of legal obligation, we voluntarily align our practices with their key principles, including but not limited to:

  • GDPR — General Data Protection Regulation (EU/EEA)
  • UK GDPR — United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation
  • CCPA/CPRA — California Consumer Privacy Act / California Privacy Rights Act (USA)
  • PIPEDA — Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada)
  • LGPD — Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (Brazil)
  • POPIA — Protection of Personal Information Act (South Africa)
  • PDPA — Personal Data Protection Acts (Thailand, Singapore, and other Asian jurisdictions)
  • APPI — Act on the Protection of Personal Information (Japan)
  • PIPL — Personal Information Protection Law (China)

2. Data Controller / Business Identity

The data controller and operator responsible for your personal data is:

The Harbinger Press
Operated by: Harbinger Bros. LLC
1309 Coffeen Avenue, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States
Email: support@harbingerpressmedia.com

3. What Data We Collect

We do not run any analytics, tracking, or advertising scripts on this website, and we do not operate a server-side contact form — see Section 6 for how our contact page actually works. The only data associated with your visit is:

  • Usage data: IP address and browser type, captured only in our hosting provider's standard web server access logs (no page-by-page tracking or time-on-site measurement is performed)
  • Technical data: device type, operating system, and browser settings, as passively reported by your browser with any request
  • Email correspondence: if you choose to email us (including via the mailto: link on our contact page), the content of that message and your email address, as with any ordinary email

We do not collect sensitive personal data such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, health data, or financial information.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Depending on your jurisdiction, we process your personal data on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Consent — when you voluntarily submit your contact details or accept cookies (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); LGPD Art. 7(I); PDPA)
  • Legitimate interests — for website security and standard server operation (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f))
  • Legal obligation — where required by applicable law (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c))
  • Contract performance — when processing is necessary to respond to your inquiry

5. How We Use Your Data

We use the limited data described in Section 3 to:

  • Respond to inquiries you send us by email
  • Keep the website running securely (standard server access logs)
  • Comply with legal obligations across applicable jurisdictions

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third parties for commercial purposes. California residents: we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

6. Data Retention

The "contact form" on our contact page is a mailto: link — clicking it opens a pre-filled message in your own email application. Any message you send this way goes directly to our support inbox as ordinary email; it is never received, processed, or stored by this website's own servers, so no separate retention period applies to it here. Messages sent to support@harbingerpressmedia.com are kept for as long as reasonably needed to handle your inquiry, consistent with standard email retention practice. Web server access logs (Section 3) are retained only as long as necessary for security and operational purposes.

7. International Data Transfers

As an internationally operating media organisation, your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States, where our operator Harbinger Bros. LLC is incorporated. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for all transfers, including:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission for EU/EEA data
  • Adequacy decisions where applicable
  • Data Processing Agreements with all third-party processors

8. Privacy Rights We Extend to You

As a courtesy, and regardless of whether the frameworks in Section 1 apply to you as a matter of law, we extend the following rights to any visitor who wishes to exercise them:

  • Right of access — request a copy of your personal data
  • Right to rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to restriction — restrict how we process your data
  • Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Right to opt out of sale — California residents may opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information (CCPA/CPRA)
  • Right not to be discriminated against — for exercising your privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
  • Right to withdraw consent — at any time, where processing is based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@harbingerpressmedia.com or in writing to: Harbinger Bros. LLC, 1309 Coffeen Avenue, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. We aim to respond within a reasonable time, generally in line with the response windows suggested as best practice under GDPR (30 days), CCPA (45 days), and LGPD (30 days).

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

  • The right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell
  • The right to delete personal information we have collected from you
